Having been out since August, Daniel Sturridge made his comeback from injury and scored just 12 minutes after he was introduced by Brendan Rodgers.

Raheem Sterling had given Liverpool a 1-0 lead against a stubborn West Ham side, Sturridge finished the game off and everyone connected with the Merseyside giants was delighted to see the famous dance back on show.

After the game, Sturridge hailed the “magician” Philippe Coutinho, who set up both goals for Liverpool, including the second for the returning England striker.

He said: "Thanks to the magician @phil.coutinho. I was able to score on my comeback. Much love to all my fans for the support!!"
