Judge Declines Stoppage Of Fayose’s Impeachment Proceeding

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday refused to halt the impeachment proceeding being spearheaded by the Ekiti State House of Assembly against Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and his deputy, Kolapo Olusola.
The impeachment proceeding notice is said to have been served on the governor and his deputy by the 19 All Progressives Congress members, who have been at loggerheads with the governor since he came on board last October.
Although Fayose has been working with only six members of the PDP in the House, the APC lawmakers, which the governor does not recognise, returned to the state this week with an impeachment notice, prompting the closure of the House of Assembly by security agents.

The shocking  moment a police officer shot a fleeing unarmed black man five times in the back, then handcuffed his body after he crumpled lifeless on the ground,has been captured on camera..
Patrolman Michael Slager, 33, opened fire on father-of-four Walter Scott, 50, a Coast Guard veteran in North Charleston, South Carolina, Saturday morning after reportedly stopping him over a busted tail light.

Officer Slager was arrested, jailed and charged with murder Tuesday afternoon after the incendiary footage emerged. He had previously defended his actions as in line with procedure, and said he ‘felt threatened’ by Scott.
An outraged representative of Scott’s family said:
‘This was a cop who felt like he could get away with just shooting anybody that many times in the back.’
Slager has claimed that Scott ran from the stop, at which point he tried to Taser him. The officer claims that Scott managed to wrest the weapon away – prompting him to draw his pistol.
Footage of the the deadly encounter, acquired by the Charleston Post and Courier, begins as Scott is fleeing.
He gets a few yards away before Scott opens fire – seven shots in quick succession, then an eighth.
Scott crumples and falls face-down on a patch of grass. Slager then walks over, shouts at him to put his hands behind his back, then handcuffs him.
A statement initially issued by Slager said that he turned to his gun after Scott wrested the Taser away from him. Slager said he shot Scott because he ‘felt threatened’ by him.
Under South Carolina law, Slager could be eligible for the death penalty if convicted of murder.
A lawyer for the family today said that the footage shows Slager ‘casually’ taking Scott’s life, and acting as if there would be no repercussions.
Attorney L. Chris Stewart said:
 ‘This was a cop who felt like he could get away with just shooting anybody that many times in the back… He just casually shot a man that many times in the back.’
‘At the moment he turned and ran and was not a threat to anybody else that officer was completely unjustified.’What happened today doesn’t happen all the time – what if there was no video?’What if there was no witness – or hero – to come forward?The initial reports stated something totally different – the officer said Mr Scott attacked him and tried to use his Taser on him. But somebody was watching.’
Scott’s brother, Anthony, spoke after his brother’s death. He said Walter had a fiancée, two siblings and four children.
Footage then seems to show Slager jogging back to the point where the Taser fell to the ground, bringing it over to Scott’s body and dropping it next to him.
As soon as paramedics arrived, they pronounced Scott dead at the scene.
Within hours of the footage emerging authorities files the murder charges and arrested Slager.
Keith Summey, the mayor of North Charleston, termed the killing a ‘bad decision’ at a press conference announcing the charges.

Fayose’s Commissioner, Aides Arrested With Weapons, Charms

Ekiti State Commissioner for Works Kayode Oso, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters Ademola Bello and four others were yesterday arrested by the police at the vicinity of the House of Assembly.
They were among the loyalists of Governor Ayo Fayose who laid siege to the precincts of the Assembly complex, waiting for the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers.
Also arrested are Adeyanju Oluwole, Raphael Adebayo, Babajide Adebayo and Wasiu Ogunsakin.
Police sources said they were arrested with one black colour Ford pick-up van with registration number EK 05-B27 and one blue Toyota Hilux van with registration number AA 363 YEK.
The two vehicles, believed to belong to the state government, were carrying weapons, including nine live cartridges, 10 cutlasses, charms, fake US dollars, a carton of Regal dry gin, a parcel of Indian hemp and six small kegs of kerosene.
Some of the thugs in the entourage reportedly escaped during their encounter with the policemen.
Police Commissioner Taiwo Lakanu could not be reached for comments on phone proved abortive as he did not pick his calls. Neither did he reply text messages sent to his cell phone.
Police spokesman Alberto Adeyemi, in a text message, said he was not aware of the arrest.

AAU Female Student Strangled To Death & Dumped Close To School Gate (Photo)

Palpable fear has gripped the Students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma following the dead body of female student found close to the school gate.
An Impeccable Source disclosed to liveschoolews.com.ng that the female student was strangled to death and dumped at the junction of ONE-T-4, close to the school gate of AAU on Monday.
There were speculations, however, that the female student was killed by cultists in the town.
Meanwhile, students have called for government’s intervention through the provision of security in the community to stem illegal activities.
Investigation was ongoing by the police to ascertain the reasons for her death.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukaila, his wife and two daughters who died in a fire earlier yesterday have been buried.
The burial ceremony took place in the late hours of Friday, April 3, 2015 in Dutse central Mosque, Jigawa State.
Prominent among the attendees at the burial was the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State and Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi.

Here is the corpse of Modupe Olaiya,  killed at Efon-Alaaye today by rampaging APC Lawmakers led by Dr Adewale Omirin. Thugs and armed policemen in the lawmakers bus opened fire at the people at Efon-Alaaye junction on their way to Ado-Ekiti today.

Sources at the scene said a member of House, Hon Gabriel Ogundele fired the shot that killed Modupe Olaiya.

The lawmakers convoy was blocked by angry youths and Soldiers at Ita-Awure before they were ordered to return to Osogbo.

Caucasian boyfriend turns out to be Nigerian conman, gives woman fake currency

A 46yr old woman in Malaysia was shocked when her Caucasian boyfriend, who she fell in love with on the Internet, turned out to be a Nigerian. On Saturday, the teacher met the 36-year-old Nigerian at a hotel in Jalan Tun Perak, Malaysia for the first time because he wanted to repay the RM130,000 that she'd lent him. The man handed her a black briefcase containing US$22,100 (RM81,770) 'cash'.
 "When she checked the notes, she knew that something was wrong so she called us," said Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zainol Samah in a press conference.
ACP Zainol said the woman met the Nigerian two months ago on the Internet and they began 'dating' after telling the woman he was white. (police pictured above showing the media the fake money)


"The man pretended to be a Caucasian when they met on Facebook. After a while, he told the victim that he was financially constrained and that he needed her to help him," he said.
The woman wired RM130,000 into a local account as the man promised to pay double the amount and in American currency. Five minutes after receiving the woman's call, police rushed to the scene and the victim informed them that she had received a briefcase containing cash, which she believed was fake.

When asked how she got the briefcase, she pointed at the man.
"So we checked and found that the 'cash' was fake. He was immediately arrested and brought to the district headquarters," ACP Zainol said.
Police then detained the Nigerian, who entered the country a week ago, at about 2.05pm. The suspect is being remanded until tomorrow. The case is being investigated under Section 489C of the Penal Code for possession of fake money.

Before Muhammadu Buhari defeat the PDP's siting president, Goodluck Jonathan, Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose was ruling the state like a small lord, chasing away 19 APC lawmakers with just 7 lawmakers he made to leave the party.

Today, the table has turned and Fayose is now under pressure. When will politicians learn to play fair?

Fire Outbreak At INEC Office In Imo

INEC office in Nwaorubi in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State was raised down by fire in the early hours of today at about 1.30am.
Speaking on the incident, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Gabriel Ada, said all the sensitive and insensitive materials kept in the building were destroyed in the fire.

Mr Gabriel said that the fire might be due to an electric spark from a generating set.
He said although the fire did not destroy the card readers meant for next Saturday’s governorship election, the fire incident might cause a little hitch during the governorship elections which is to hold next Saturday April 11th.
He however promised that the agency would do everything possible to ensure that all materials, sensitive and non sensitive, needed for the governorship election is replaced.

5 killed by Boko Haram members in Konduga, Borno

Suspected members of Boko Haram killed 5 people in Kayamla in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State today April 4th. According to reports, the sect members stormed the village, destroyed properties and shot indiscriminately. They were however repelled by the vigilante group in the community who came together and fought them off. This will be the first attack in Borno state after the presidential election.

Consequent upon the defection of the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has allegedly ordered the stoppage of the salaries and allowances of all political aides of his deputy.
A source said Mimiko took the decision as payback to his deputy who ditched him and the PDP at a very crucial period.
It was also gathered that Mimiko had initially ordered the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Isaac Eke, to withdraw all the security aides of Olanusi, in addition to preventing him from having access to all official vehicles attached to the office of the deputy governor.
Sources, however, said immediately Buhari was declared winner on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, the CP immediately restored Olanusi’s security details, while he also allowed him access to all his official cars.
The source disclosed how the drama all played out: “You know Olanusi’s defection came as a rude shock to the governor. He never believed the man would defect to APC, because as at Tuesday before the presidential election, both of them and other PDP leaders were all present at the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan’s rally in Akure.
“The governor does not forgive people easily, but Olanusi is well prepared for the huge task ahead. Immediately the information reached the governor that his deputy had defected, he directed the Commissioner of Police to withdraw all the security personnel attached to the office of the deputy governor and also grounded all the vehicles belonging to the office.
“The CP, however, returned all the security men attached to the deputy governor on Tuesday once it was clear that President Goodluck Jonathan had lost the election. But the governor is not giving up. He has given a directive that the salaries of all aides of his deputy should be stopped. This is Mimiko’s political style.”
Confirming the development, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the deputy governor, Daisi Ajayi, said his boss’ security details and vehicles were withdrawn before it was restored on Tuesday.
He also confirmed that there was a directive from the governor to stop the allowances and salaries of all the political aides working with the deputy governor.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has resigned to fate, saying he knows he can't survive various offences against fellow Nigerians and Constitution hanging on his neck, vowing, however, that he will not lose office without one of his "enemies" losing his life.
Sources close to the Governor House said Fayose made the vow on the second night of sleeplessness resulting from President Goodluck Jonathan's loss to General Muhammadu Buhari of APC at the last weekend presidential election.
"I have never seen him in that mood before. With the way he was behaving, I never knew he would see the next day. He was taking several drugs and at the same time drinking Gulder non-stop. President Jonathan compounded the problem for him because he had already conceded defeat and congratulated Gen Buhari," a dependable source said:
He added:"To the shock of the four people present, he banged a bottle of Guilder on the table, stood up and declared: 'kaka kile o ku Ile o sa ni. I know I am going very soon, but I am making a vow that one principal officer in the House of Assembly will pay for this. Even though I have regretted some of my actions, I won't go down without somebody going down also. I am sorry I have to do this'."
The source said one of his relations present burst into tears, trying to calm him down after which he stormed into his room and closed the door.

The historic conclusion to the March 28th presidential elections may have turned the political structures of the ruling party on its head in a manner that marveled many within the country but the uncertainties surrounding the staffing of the incoming Buhari administration appears to pose a more intriguing scenario. This is as information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the typical horse trading for the sensitive ministerial positions within the Buhari administration has ensued.
Available information indicates that the former Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo may have been presented by the former president of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo as the possible Minister of FINANCE for the Buhari administration. Prof. Soludo had served as a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration prior to becoming the governor of the CBN.
Soludo’s presentation to the incoming administration as the likely minister of FINANCE is reported to have raised eyebrows within the inner circles of the All Progressive Congress [APC] – who explained that Soludo remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA]. He complained that Soludo cannot be allowed to reap where he did not sow. Already, Tinubu, according to a highly placed source, had reached an agreement with General Mohammadu Buhari prior to the APC presidential primaries – concerning the appointment of ministerial positions. The source reveal that Tinubu extracted an agreement from Buhari – which Buhari appended his signature on as preconditions to his participation in the APC primaries – of appointing nine [9] ministerial positions to the Buhari administration. The nine ministration slots are said to be the nine ‘juiciest’ ministerial slots – including that of Petroleum, Finance, Works, FCT, Interior. It is to this end that the Tinubu camp frowns at the presentation of Soludo as a finance minister – to occupy one of the supposed slots reserved for Tinubu.
Soludo, on his part, is reported to have been convinced by the former head of state, Obasanjo to accept the position – if and when offered by the Buhari administration. A source close to Soludo indicates that Soludo appears eager to return to government service. The source however added that Soludo remains cautious of the offer.
Prof Charles Soludo had been heavily critical of the economic policies of the Jonathan administration. His criticism had been published as newspaper articles in major news dailies of numerous occasions. The Jonathan administration had in turn attempted to witch hunt the former CBN governor by using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] to harass and embarrass him. The EFCC was successfully used to derail the 2012 gubernatorial aspiration of the former CBN governor. The EFCC finally cleared the former CBN governor of all wrong doing in February 2015.

Ekiti State Assembly commences plot to impeach Ayo Fayose

Legislators at Ekiti Assembly have served Governor Ayo Fayose an impeachment notice and have given him seven days to respond.

At least 18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have agreed to commence investigations into allegations of grave misconduct against the governor. One of the legislators in Ekiti told Sahara Reporters, “We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state.”

If indeed Fayose gets successfully impeached, it would mark his second impeachment in office.

President Jonathan holds closed-door meeting with Buhari

President Goodluck Jonathan and the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, have met for the first time after the keenly contested presidential election.

Jonathan lost the election ​to Buhari, ​and conceded defeat, the first time an incumbent Nigerian leader would do so. In a telephone call to Buhari ahead of his official declaration as winner, President Jonathan had urged him to make time for their teams to meet and​ commence transitional processes.

The meeting, described as “private”, held at the Banquet Hall inside the President’s office.



The two leaders met behind closed-doors at the Aso Rock presidential villa Friday. Both sides are expected to commence transitional processes ahead of the May 29 date for the transfer of power.

Sources say the meeting is most likely related to a soft landing for the incumbent but naijatonic.blogspot.com was yet to confirm the full details as at the time of posting.

Presidency sources however confirmed that both leaders held a meeting.

Many ladies of today don't have respect for you already, they wont even kneel to apologize to you when they wrong you either as your girlfriend or as your wife. Guys, don't act cheap. Ask a girl for her hand in marry as a Real Man, if she is not interested because you did not go on your knees move on to another. There are many decent single ladies out there without any responsible man looking at their direction. They need you.

And don't get it twisted. Using a Fork to eat is not culture, getting education is not culture; it's a choice. You can decide not to get western education and still be successful. You can decide not to use Fork to eat and yet you will still eat your food to satisfaction.

I Have A Lot To Say About What Happened In My Government – President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to break his silence on his experience in office and other issues at the appropriate time as he has a lot to tell Nigerians about what he passed through in office.

Jonathan stated this when approached by journalists at the Presidential Villa for an interview, after the Good Friday Service organised by the Aso Villa Chapel.

“Don’t worry, I will talk to you at the appropriate time,” 
the President said, smiling, as he made his way from the chapel to his official residence.

The seven short exhortations that accompanied the seven biblical lessons all centred on the sacrifice the preachers said Jonathan had made to keep the county united.

They likened his decision to concede defeat in the last Saturday’s presidential elections to the sacrifice Jesus Christ made to save mankind.

They also agreed that the bold step taken by the President at the appropriate time was commendable and urged him to remain focused because his future was in the hands of God.

“This man (Jonathan) said here that he is the most criticised President and he prophesied that by the time he will be leaving, he will be the most celebrated President,” one of the clergymen who led the intercessory prayers said. “That has come to pass with the way he is being celebrated worldwide for conceding defeat.”

PDP members say it's not easy for a president to accept defeat, so Nigerians should praise Jonathan. Smh!

NIGER DELTA MILITANTS BLOW UP PIPELINE IN DELTA STATE

A Niger Delta militant group identified as Urhobo Gbagbako, has blown up the NPDC Oil pipelines at Ighrenene, Afiesere and Ekiugbo communities in Delta State. In an email sent to reporters claiming responsibility for the bombing which occurred yesterday April 2nd, the spokesperson of the group, PriestOmodjuvwu, said the group, which consist of ex-militants, men, women & children of Urhobo origin, decided to blow up the oil pipeline following the continued neglect of the Urhobo militants in the pipelines protection contracts offered to ex-militants from other ethnic groups.



Spokesperson of the militant group, Mr Omdjuvwu said they decided to blow up the pipeline to draw government attention and demand to be included in the pipeline protection contracts.
"We have now resumed attack on the NPDC pipeline facilities on a massive scale, which scale of bombings shall be unprecedented,” the email read.

Rev. Father Mbaka Speaks on Buhari's Divine Victory

Charismatic catholic priest, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu has congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the just concluded presidential election.

Mbaka, whose New Year Message entitled “From Goodluck to Badluck” drew mixed reactions across the country, described Buhari’s emergence as a divine victory for the entire Nigerians.

Since we are lagging decades behind and must start planing like yesterday, here is my shopping list for you to consider as you plan your government.

I want regionalism;
I want state police;
I want capital punishment for stealing and/or with/without, of not of corruption;
I want a nation founding conference;
I want strong pro-African posture;
I want organic farming and prohibition of dangerous and experimental GMO agriculture (Adesiyan's dangerous legacy);
I want Primary and preventive health over expensive western machines and systems;
I want water;
I want the promotion of ecologically friendly research via centers and contests and support among all youth;
I want the aggressive support of farming;
I want the combating of deforestation and desertification;
I want decentralization of government;
I want restoration of the Parliamentary system;
I want shorter terms for elected officials;
I want electronic voting if we will still have voting;
I want direct democracy (refer to Gadaffi's Green Book) with market women, professors as Jega used, and all other social groups being part of a local and central government via information technology conferencing;
I want an end to colonialist style democracy and return to African methods of selecting Philosophical kings as leaders and not 'dirty' politicians;
I want an absolute cut on campaign spending with jail as repudiation;
I want all campaigns to be completely equally sponsored by the government and only sponsored a fixed amount by the government;
I want equal media slots for all contestants;
No more impunity for politicians unless there is impunity for common thieves and armed robbers;
I want collective and public participatory governance and regular thrash-all conferences, easy thanks to modern IT tools;
Regular constituency re-evaluation of representatives with possibility of abrupt mid-term tenure truncation;
I want Nigeria to be involved in not only national matters but to play a lead role in regional and global issues. To be involved say, in sending troops and aid to combat ISIS, or rescue hurricane victims, etc;
I want investment in eco-friendly natural energy, like the natural pyramids were built to provide by our African brothers in ancient Egypt;
Vernacular spoken in school must no longer be an offence as this is our natural tongue;
I wan investment in research into all ancient African natural medicine remedies. I do not limited like MRI and CT scan stuff that cost millions and will only be used by a handful, I prefer naturopathic holistic medicine that can quickly help all. We can be world pioneers;
Manufacturing does not have to be priority; especially if we do so by crippling the masses and patronizing the cabal as with the current car import ban crap, we must look at what pays us most as a nation, our natural endowment. It may be tourism, it may be so many things. Not all nations must manufacture, we must see what is economically and competitively advantageous for us;

Doyin Okupe has something to say on the defeat of Jonathan

The special assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on public affairs, Doyin Okupe is among those who said that General Muhammadu Buhari can never become the president. Now he has changed:
It has pleased the Almighty God to give victory to Gen Mohammed Buhari, the Presidential candidate of the APC and the President elect. 
We accept this as the Will of God and I personally congratulate the general for his success. We have ran a good race and fought a gallant battle. We are bowed but not cowed. We lost the crown but we gained a trophy.
The PDP family must not despair; If it took general Buhari 30 yrs to come back to power, it should take us much less. 
For the opportunities we have had we give God All the Glory. To millions of our supporters we say thanks to those who are our adversaries, the battle has been fought, and it has been won & lost. The strife is over for the next 4 yrs ONLY.  
We rejoice with APC & the people of Nigeria on the progress we have jointly made in our democratic journey. For our democracy to endure it is important that the winner clearly emerges while the loser concedes with equanimity. 
Certainly we will be back. We will overcome this defeat and rise again to power and glory in a twinkle of an eye.

Dear General Buhari: Here Is My Shopping List

Dear General,
Since we are lagging decades behind and must start planing like yesterday, here is my shopping list for you to consider as you plan your government.

I want regionalism;
I want state police;
I want capital punishment for stealing and/or with/without, of not of corruption;
I want a nation founding conference;
I want strong pro-African posture;
I want organic farming and prohibition of dangerous and experimental GMO agriculture (Adesiyan's dangerous legacy);
I want Primary and preventive health over expensive western machines and systems;
I want water;
I want the promotion of ecologically friendly research via centers and contests and support among all youth;
I want the aggressive support of farming;
I want the combating of deforestation and desertification;
I want decentralization of government;
I want restoration of the Parliamentary system;
I want shorter terms for elected officials;
I want electronic voting if we will still have voting;
I want direct democracy (refer to Gadaffi's Green Book) with market women, professors as Jega used, and all other social groups being part of a local and central government via information technology conferencing;
I want an end to colonialist style democracy and return to African methods of selecting Philosophical kings as leaders and not 'dirty' politicians;
I want an absolute cut on campaign spending with jail as repudiation;
I want all campaigns to be completely equally sponsored by the government and only sponsored a fixed amount by the government;
I want equal media slots for all contestants;
No more impunity for politicians unless there is impunity for common thieves and armed robbers;
I want collective and public participatory governance and regular thrash-all conferences, easy thanks to modern IT tools;
Regular constituency re-evaluation of representatives with possibility of abrupt mid-term tenure truncation;
I want Nigeria to be involved in not only national matters but to play a lead role in regional and global issues. To be involved say, in sending troops and aid to combat ISIS, or rescue hurricane victims, etc;
I want investment in eco-friendly natural energy, like the natural pyramids were built to provide by our African brothers in ancient Egypt;
Vernacular spoken in school must no longer be an offence as this is our natural tongue;
I wan investment in research into all ancient African natural medicine remedies. I do not limited like MRI and CT scan stuff that cost millions and will only be used by a handful, I prefer naturopathic holistic medicine that can quickly help all. We can be world pioneers;
Manufacturing does not have to be priority; especially if we do so by crippling the masses and patronizing the cabal as with the current car import ban crap, we must look at what pays us most as a nation, our natural endowment. It may be tourism, it may be so many things. Not all nations must manufacture, we must see what is economically and competitively advantageous for us;

Amaechi finally speaks on Jonathan's defeat by Buhari

Rivers State governor and director-general of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Rotimi Amaechi, has described the victory of the presidential candidate of the party, General Muhamadu Buhari, as the handiwork of God to bring change in the leadership of the country.

The governor thanked Nigerians and APC faithful for their collective efforts in voting Buhari and gave the assurance that the president-elect will run a transparent and accountable government that will move the nation to greater heights.

Amaechi spoke upon his arrival in Port Harcourt where he was welcomed by APC chieftains:
“I attribute the victory of APC to the handiwork of God, and it is to effect change in the leadership of this country. I want to thank Nigerians and APC faithful for the various roles they played to lead the party to victory. Be assured that Buhari’s administration will run an accountable and transparent government and will take this nation to the next level.”

Amaechi, who is also the chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), enjoined Nigerians and all APC faithfuls to join him in congratulating the winner of the 2015 Presidential election, Buhari, and his running mate, Professor Osibanjo, on their victory at the polls.

Also speaking, the Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Senator Magnus Abe, thanked the Almighty God for making it possible for Nigerians to know the truth in the face of wickedness, political high-handedness, and impunity by the military and the police against APC supporters in the state.

Abe said, “We don’t have anything to say than to tell Governor Amaechi thank you for making it possible for us to identify with the APC, which won the presidential election. The victory for Buhari has made us proud; Rivers people will now be free from wickedness, political high handedness, and impunity.”

Tinubu and Atiku in Closed-Door Meeting over Buhari's Victory

Following the success recorded by the APC, its leading figures have started consultations with a view to forming an inclusive government that would take care of various political interests within the party.

It was learnt in Abuja on Thursday that party leaders began the process with consultations with those who had contested in the party’s Presidential primaries.

As part of these consultations, the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was at the Asokoro private residence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday.

Although details of the meeting were not made public because both men met behind closed doors, it was learnt that it was part of consultations to work out modalities of filing top cabinet positions.

According to PUNCH, party leaders had since reached an agreement to ensure that all nominees for cabinet positions must meet strict guidelines to complement the high standard set by General Buhari.

A highly placed party member, who pleaded anonymity, because he was not authorised to speak to the media said, “ What do you expect? Our party is proactive and we want to hit the ground running by ensuring that rough edges are ironed out in good time.

“The party is run with a lot of consultations. So, it is not unusual that our leader met with another respected leader of our party privately. I do not have details of what was discussed but I have no doubt it is nothing less than how to move our dear nation forward.”
