REVEALED: Jonathan Is Panicking Over The Missing $20bn

$20bn Oil Fraud: Jonathan Administration Pressured PricewaterhouseCooper To Revise Report
One day after President Goodluck Jonathan authorized the release of a version of a forensic audit of $20bn that is reportedly missing from Nigeria’s crude oil sales, an oil industry expert retained by Sahara Reporters to look at the report has stated that the Nigerian government appeared to have pressured the auditors, PricewaterhouseCooper, to revise parts of its preliminary report.

After analyzing the audit report, the expert concluded that the much-anticipated release of the audit report of Nigeria’s accounts and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has provided few insights into the $20 billion that was allegedly not remitted to the Federal Accounts.

Jonathan authorized the release of a version of the report one day after Muhammadu Buhari said
his administration would immediately investigate the allegation by former Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to the effect that the NNPC had failed to account for more than $20 billion in crude oil exports by Nigeria.
“The report reveals that PricewaterhouseCooper was recalled by Nigeria’s auditor general in January 2015 to share its original findings with the NNPC,” said the expert. He added, “At this point, PwC received ‘a significant amount of additional information’ from the NNPC, which was not reportedly not provided during the original review period. Consequently, the so-called updated report released by Jonathan contains significant changes from the previous report.”

He stated that it was important to investigate the nature of the “additional information” produced by NNPC “to determine whether it was simply a tactical deployment of deceptive data and information to color the audit outcome.”

According to the Abuja-based expert, “it is highly curious that the NNPC was apparently inept in the quality of information it originally provided to the auditors. Given the charged nature of the controversy generated by the matter, one would expect that the NNPC would be scrupulous in providing exhaustive information to PricewaterhouseCooper at the initial stages of the audit.” He stated that it was important to examine and evaluate the additional information to ascertain that it was not part of a scheme to compromise the audit process.

The oil sector expert added that it was significant that, despite the revision, the sanitized version of the audit still indicated “there was a shortfall of $1.48 billion in oil revenue that the NNPC needed to refund to the Federal Accounts.”

Our expert also remarked that the PwC report also admitted that it did not even constitute an audit. He pointed to a section of the report that read, “the procedures we performed did not constitute an examination or review in accordance with generally accepted standards or attestation standards.” The PwC report also warned that its findings cannot “be relied upon by any other party (third party)” to Nigeria’s auditor-general. “This is another curious aspect of the audit,” according to our expert. “Basically, it’s as if the audit company was telling the world that the work they set out to do did not follow stringent standards of auditing. And yet, the Jonathan administration had promised Nigerians a thorough audit. And a thorough-going audit is certainly what the government owes the Nigerian people.”

PwC is one of the world’s leading audit and consulting companies. SaharaReporters could not ascertain how much PwC charged the Nigerian government for its work on the saga of $20 billion in missing oil revenue

I will resume search for oil along the Lake Chad Basin - Buhari

President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says he will resume vigorous search for oil along the Chad Basin in parts of Borno State and other parts of the Northeast region once he is sworn in as President come May 29th. According to KSM news, Buhari said this while receiving Borno state Governor Kashim Shettima and Traditional Rulers and Elders from Borno state who came to Kaduna to pay him a congratulatory visit on Sunday April 19th. More pics after the cut...

KSM news reports (the official news agency for Borno governor) that Gen Buhari in his address to the people promised to work to restore peace in the Northeast region by according top priority to ending the activities of  Boko Haram. He promised to work in collaboration with the government of Chad, Cameroon and Niger to curtail the trans border movement of Boko Haram insurgents, cut supply of arms as well as cut the recruitment and training of fresh recruits.

On Agriculture, the president-elect said the receding of Lake Chad will be addressed through the transfer of water from the Central African Republic to the lake to boost its commercial activities for fishing and irrigation farming.

He recalled that he once read a document raising fears about receding of the Lake Chad which he handed over to former President Olusegun Obasanjo but now that he would be coming as President, he will handle the matter.

Xenophobia: 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN leaves Nigeria

MTN Nigeria says about 6,000 Nigerians will lose their jobs if MTN is made to leave Nigeria. Head of Communications MTN, Mr Wale Goodluck said this while reacting to calls by a protest group in Edo state yesterday that the telecommunications offices in Nigeria will be shut and their installations attacked if the xenophobic attacks in South Africa continues.

Mr Goodluck said there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in Nigeria compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians.
"So if people go ahead with their threats to attack our facilities, what that means is that we may be forced to close down the business in Nigeria and about 6,000 Nigerians that make up 99% of our workforce will be unemployed.
Then, when you look at our support chain, we have about 500,000 Nigerians gainfully employed. So, boycotting our services simply means destroying so many other Nigerian businesses and making over 500,000 other Nigerians to lose their jobs. This business supports a lot of businesses across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Many of the businesses that are affiliated to South Africa are in the retail space, supporting the growth of Nigeria and employing so many Nigerians. We see no revenge of Xenophobia and we commend the role the Nigerian High Commissioner in South Africa has played; at least there has been no fatality on the part of any Nigerian,” he said

Where Is My Money? –Jonathan Demands Billions He Released for His Election from PDP Leaders

Following the defeat suffered by President Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the PDP, during the March 28 and April 11 elections, the President has asked Party Leaders and government officials who handled campaign funds to refund the monies.

Jonathan, credible sources revealed, has also set up a committee of five strong men to get all those with his money to return them with immediate effect.

President Jonathan is very angry that despite giving campaign coordinators, ministers, special advisers, close aides and friends, support groups and traditional rulers about N2trillion in cash, most of them could not even deliver their polling booths, like Musiliu Obanikoro in Lagos and others...

The President was said to have been further irked by the results of an investigation he ordered. The probe showed that some coordinators used campaign funds to buy very expensive properties, especially in Abuja, and luxury cars. Some of the funds have also been traced to the bank accounts of senior party and government officials who were charged with the disbursement of funds to voters and groups.

A reliable source within the Presidency told Punch that one of the President's agent, who recently admitted to a few close aides that it would be difficult to retrieve all the funds, was bent on getting senior party and government officials who received funds to account for all monies collected.

The source who is a close associate of Jonathan said monies given to traditional rulers in different parts of the country, for example, would not be demanded for. But the source was quick to add that the President was determined to get his ministers, close aides and special advisers to make refunds.

He said, “Some ministers did not get less than N20bn each. None of them can deny it because this fact isn’t hidden within government circles. The only problem with such monies is that there is no receipt to show that they collected money. The sad part is that almost all of them performed woefully. Even in the states where the PDP won, some ministers could not deliver 100,000 votes. They could not mobilise their people to come out. The President is not happy. They all went property and car shopping. This was the most expensive election in the history of this country, yet there was no result.

“The sad part was that even after the President lost on March 28, more money was given to all of them to make up for the dismal outing by winning their states during the April 11 elections. But that turned out to be a bad decision because apart from losing the governorship election, we didn’t perform well at the National Assembly and House of Representatives polls.

They must give an account of the money since they didn’t use it for the election. The President is not particular about the funds spent on genuine campaign needs like the hiring of jets, advertisements and the rest that also cost billions of naira. His focus is on the individuals that collected billions to deliver their states but couldn’t even win their polling booths.”

It was gathered that apart from the N20bn given to some key ministers and senior special advisers, especially in states where the PDP hoped to capture from the All Progressives Congress, some pro-Jonathan support groups received about N16bn.

A former legislator who was to print five million recharge cards, T-shirts and base ball caps has also come under pressure to account for the billions she received because only a few people got the items she was paid to produce. Also, a top female politician in Lagos who got a contract to produce and supply thousands of mobile phones with pro-Jonathan messages was said to have produced just a few and pocketed most of the funds.

It was learnt that the funds Jonathan released were disbursed in three phases. Some were released before the March 28 elections, others on the day of the presidential election and more before the April 11 governorship polls.

Already, the committee of five has started asking some of the campaign coordinators and ministers who received a minimum of N20bn each to give an account and also refund residual funds where applicable.

However, Punch learnt that most of the people who received the funds had not cooperated with the committee. While some have not been forthcoming, others have simply ignored the committee.

Jonathan is said to be particularly focusing on the South-West and northern states.

In Lagos, a popular PDP chieftain who lost in his polling booth reportedly received $50m in cash a few days before the governorship elections.

A senior PDP member who spoke to Punch in Lagos over the weekend confirmed the cash splurge in Lagos. He said, “Lagos was a show of shame. A few days to the governorship poll, about $150m was received in cash by about five top campaign coordinators. But they failed again, even more than we did in the presidential poll because we lost some areas we won on March 28 to the APC on April 11. They were to share this money to the local governments and the masses.

“Please understand me, I am saying that the sum of $150m was just for the governorship election in Lagos. We are not talking about the sums they got for the presidential election. Only one out of the five people that shared the money gave some of it to local government chairmen. This person disbursed about N2bn. The rest of them sat on the money.

“The coordinator that collected the sum of $50m later went to a Federal Government agency and complained of not having enough funds for the election and got an additional $20m. The story is the same in almost all the South-West especially Oyo, Osun, and the northern states. A female minister from the North, who got the highest amount of funds for that region, lost her state in a shameful manner.”

Some men have becoming big boys overnight but Jonathan is returning to his village alone. How sad!

Buhari Can Arrest Deziani and Okonjo-Iweala On May 29

I can afford to take the risk of concluding that the majority of Nigerians would like to see brought to justice, and swiftly so, the people who brought Nigeria to her knees through the looting of our commonwealth.

Many Nigerians are afraid that some, if not most of these looters, may flee the country after May 29, 2015, before investigations are commenced/concluded. The purpose of this article is to advocate that the President elect, Mohamadu Buhari, should start the blitzkrieg against corruption immediately after concluding his swearing-in ceremony at Eagle Square on May 29, 2015.

Based on available public information, there is no better way to start that fight than the arrest of Deziani Allison-Madueke and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on before the end of day on May 29, 2015.

Both women are currently serving as minister for Petroleum and Finance respectively. They both represent some of the biggest fishes, yes fishes, in the pond.

These two individuals are not the most corrupt members of the now infamous Goodluck Jonathan led presidency—and it will take a very long time before the full extent of the damage done to our economy can be fully established, if at all possible! However, in the case of Deziani and Okonjo-Iweala, the information gleaned from the several House of Representatives investigations into the 10 Billion Naira NNPC plane maintenance contracts, and oil subsidy payments that were not budgeted for provide the incoming President with enough information to order their immediate arrests and have them charged with the appropriate offences the same day.

The new president should demonstrate his commitment to the rule of law and the time limit requirement for charging arrested persons with offences known to law and having such persons presented before a court of law by ensuring that both women appear in the court on Monday June 1, 2015 to enter pleas and apply for bail. (May 29, 2015 being a Friday). Like many other Nigerians, I believe that both women are surely guilty of more heinous offenses than the ones mentioned above. However, arresting and charging them will send a clear and unambiguous message about the ferocity of the incoming President’s war against corruption, yield valuable information into the more complicated investigations and encourage others to step forward and make voluntary disclosures, thereby reducing the time and resources needed for the fight against corruption.

The President-Elect can then offer leniency on the basis of voluntary disclosures, have a hiatus of a few days and wait to see if there will be takers of the offer. The majority of Nigerian politicians are cowards and trust me, seeing the powerful Deziani and Okonjo-Iweala charged before the court, they will be lining up to confess. This approach will be cheaper, point you to previously unknown and maybe otherwise never possible to find stolen resources. I believe it will also yield more of the stolen resources. This topic will be fleshed out in full in another article.

For me, calling for the arrest and trial of Okonjo-Iweala is personal anguish for me but the nation’s interest must be the over-riding consideration. It is anguish for me because at the tail end of Obasanjo’s presidency she was one of those I sincerely considered worthy of becoming the President or Vice President at the very minimum. How she allowed herself to be sucked into the bowels of Jonathan’s rampaging corruption whale is an examination that would have commenced inside her head by now.

Let PDP supporters call me what they want and I am not a member of APC. The party I support is the one I believe has the interest of Nigeria at heart. I believe Mohamadu Buhari of APC does at this point in time. Nigerians, including me are eager to see these corrupt and arrogant politicians from all parties who bestrode our political landscape in the recent past like Colossus, feeding fat on our collective inheritance brought to justice and swiftly so. The stoppage or reduction of corruption and the recovery of our stolen resources is critical the efforts to build a sustainable society in which we all have a reasonable chance of achieving our legitimate aspirations.

Fayose Begs, Says I'm ready to negotiate with APC lawmakers

The reality of impeachment in the last days of the current House of Assembly is beginning to dawn on the governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose. Hence, he is now calling for peace from those he chased away.

The face -off between the 19 APC lawmakers in the Ekiti State House of Assembly and Fayose may end well if he is serious, as the governor says he is willing to negotiate with the aggrieved lawmakers.

The lawmakers are pushing for the impeachment of the governor, as they have directed the state Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, to constitute a panel to investigate allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him and his deputy, Dr. Kolapo Olusola.

But speaking on Friday during a thanksgiving service at Ansar ud Deen Mosque, Ado Ekiti, Fayose said he was ready to sit with the lawmakers and negotiate.

“I am not opposed to anything that can bring peace; peace cannot be wished away. I’m ready to accommodate everybody. Whatever they want, we can sit down and talk. There is no perfect man."

Fayose apologized to those he might have offended (especially President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari), saying only God is perfect.

Fayose to know fate at Supreme Court today

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state will today know his fate as the Supreme court will be delivering judgement on the petition filed by the APC challenging his victory at the June 21 2014 governorship election. APC in its petition, had alleged that unlawful use of soldiers, intimidation of its supporters and compromised ballot papers were used to achieve his victory at last year's elections. The APC had lost in an earlier petition at the Ekiti state Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on December 19, 2014 which upheld Governor Fayose’s victory. A dissatisfied APC approached the Supreme court for further hearing on the matter.
Meanwhile tension has reportedly gripped the state as both party supporters are awaiting the outcome of the supreme court judgement today.

Impeachment: We will Defend Fayose with Our Blood, Vow Ekiti PDP Lawmakers

  • Tension mounts as S’Court delivers judgment on guber election tuesday
Olakiitan Victor in Ado Ekiti
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Monday pledged to defend Governor Ayodele Fayose with the last drop of their blood, to prevent his impeachment by the 19 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At a press conference in Ado Ekiti the factional Speaker of the assembly Hon Dele Olugbemi, accused some leaders of the APC in the South-west of sponsoring the  impeachment plot, saying he was invited to two meetings to be part of the conspiracy.
Meanwhile, there was uneasy calm in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital yesterday as news spread round the city that  the Supreme Court would  today deliver judgment in the disputed June 21, 2014 gubernatorial election in the state.
Olugbemi, who was flanked by other PDP  lawmakers, refused to mention the APC leaders allegedly involved in the impeachment plot against Fayose, but said the meetings he held with the leaders took place  in Osogbo and somewhere in Lagos.
The factional Speaker alleged that the deal the APC leaders wanted to broker with him was how he could relinquish his speakership for the speaker of the APC caucus, Hon Adewale Omirin to take over, so that Fayose could be emasculated and become an easy prey.
“Just recently, I was invited  to Osun and Lagos States at midnight. They thought I could be easily bribed and be co-opted into unholy alliance to remove Fayose. I want to tell you that the impeachment is real because  I am involved in the plan and I know those that are involved.
“I can’t imagine myself being part of the plot to remove a man that was overwhelmingly voted for by the people. The reason for my involvement brought about the tentative withdrawal  of the suit filed by APC lawmakers against me, challenging  Omirin’s removal from court.
“But  I want to say that I will mention names if they go ahead with the plan. We want to also say that we the  defendants in the suits want the continuation of the suits, we don’t want withdrawal because due process would have to be followed  in a constitutional matter like this.
“I want to say again that we are solidly behind Fayose. We are also ready to defend the mandate freely given to him by the people of the state, even if it will cost us our lives,” Olugbemi said.
Olugbemi pointed out that Omirin started displaying enmity against Fayose  right from the day of the latter’s inauguration, and alleged that the rival Speaker  stayed away from the ceremony due to political acrimony.
“This time calls for sober reflection. Why is impeachment always coming up each time Fayose is in government? Those outside Ekiti cannot determine our fate for us and I will never be part of conspiracy that will make Ekiti to hate me forever because Fayose is a man of the people.”
Referring to the suit  numbers FHC/ABJ/CS/ 885/2014 and FHC/L/CS/ 1823/2014  filed by Omirin in opposition to his speakership, Olugbemi contended that the import of the action  was that Omirin had conceded that he is no longer the Speaker of the assembly.
“We have had enough political instability in Ekiti State and this time around, those who caused Ekiti State imbroglio in 2006 will not be allowed to destabilise the state just because their party has been
voted out of power.
“Governor Fayose was elected to govern Ekiti State for four years and those throwing stones from Lagos and Osun States are warned to desist, lest they incur the wrath of Ekiti people “Having been defeated in the entire 16 councils in Ekiti State in five elections: governorship, senatorial, presidential, House of
Representatives and  the House of Assembly within 10 months, it should behoove on the APC lawmakers and their sponsors that they are not wanted in the state,” he said.
However, there was tension in Ado-Ekiti yesterday as news spread round the city that  the Supreme Court will today deliver judgment in the disputed June 21, 2014 gubernatorial election in the state.
The incumbent governor, Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated  the then governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi  in all the 16 local government areas of the state. Investigation by THISDAY  revealed that what  actually fuelled the apprehension was the fact that the judgment is coming midway into the plot to remove Fayose by the 19 members of the APC in the state assembly over alleged gross misconduct.
Checks revealed that people were seen in clusters across the streets of Ado Ekiti metropolis discussing the development.
Many thought the victory recorded by Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 might swing the pendulum in favour of the APC, the party that is challenging Fayose’s victory.
Speaking on the development,  Fayose, in a statewide broadcast asked residents to maintain the peace and go about their lawful duties.
He  warned that nobody must do anything to plunge the state into chaos, saying the peace of the state was paramount to his government and that nothing would be spared to sustain the relative peace being enjoyed by the people.
Fayose, who thanked the people for voting overwhelmingly for PDP candidates in the just concluded state assembly election, said their action had further proved that what he was enjoying was a genuine mandate and not a stolen one has being peddled.
The governor  said he was of the belief that God would vindicate him at the end of the day, and that he would triumph over whatever plans mounted to truncate his tenure by individuals or groups of people.
A civil servant, Mr. Adelodun Okunola who works in state Local Government Service Commission,  said he had nothing much to comment on the Supreme Court judgment of tomorrow, saying what was paramount to him was peaceful coexistence of people of the state.
A farmer, Mr. Sunday Adelowo said he did not believe that people should express anxiety over the judgment since both the Election Petition Tribunal and the Appeal Court had earlier ruled in favour of the governor at various instances.
As at the time of filling these reports, men of the Nigeria police were still keeping vigil at their various places where they were posted since outbreak of impeachment crisis last week, while a couple of patrol vans were sighted moving around the state capital.

I can't promise my government will find missing Chibok girls - Buhari

President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says his incoming government cannot promise the return of missing Chibok girls but that they would do everything within their power to secure their return. He said this in a statement he released today April 13th to commemorate one year of the girls' abduction. The statement below...
Today is a time to reflect on the pain and suffering of the victims, their friends and families. Our thoughts and prayers, and that of the whole Nigerian Nation, are with you today. I want to assure all of them, and particularly the parents, that when my new Administration takes office at the end of May, we will do everything we can to defeat Boko Haram. We will act differently from the Government we replace: we hear the anguish of our citizens and intend to respond accordingly.
This new approach must also begin with honesty. We do not know if the Chibok girls can be rescued. Their whereabouts remain unknown. As much as I wish to, I cannot promise that we can find them. But I say to every parent, family member and friend of the children that my Government will do everything in its power to bring them home. What I can pledge, with absolute certainty, is that starting on the first day of my Administration Boko Haram will know the strength of our collective will and commitment to rid this nation of terror, and bring back peace and normalcy to all the affected areas. Boko Haram” means “Western Education is Sinful”. When they are defeated militarily, as they will be, we will ensure our citizens in the affected areas have improved educational opportunities as a direct counterbalance to Boko Haram’s twisted ideology.
In particular we will educate ever more young girls ensuring they are empowered as citizens of Nigeria. Let us use this anniversary to remind each other that the attack on Chibok was an attack on the dreams and aspirations of our young people. We stand united in our pledge to resist terror in Nigeria– not just through military means but also through the power of opportunity and the hope of a better future for all”.

This is the mother of the three boys who were kidnapped from their home in Surulere last week by a maid. The kids - Aderomola Orekoya, 11 months, Adedamola Orekoya, 4, and Demola Orekoya, 6, have still not been found. TVC met with their mum for a brief chat. See the video after the cut...

Buhari's Certificate Saga and Nigerian Military: THE UPDATE

NIGERIAN MILITARY AND BUHARI’S CERTIFICATE DRAMA: ACT ONE SCENE THREE
By Terfa Naswem

When General Muhammadu Buhari’s school certificate issue came up, I wrote an earth-shattering article against the Nigerian military and PDP stating that I suspected a foul play in the issue. The article was supposed to be published in the Nation and Thisday. But after due consultations with my media colleagues and two of my friends who are Barristers, they advised me not to send such an article for publication yet and should wait to see how the drama between PDP in collaboration with the Nigerian military against Buhari ends before I can do that.

I thought of it and later decided to take a stand-by-the-side-and- watch approach.

My responsibility as a professional and practicing journalist is to stand for the truth at all times irrespective of who is involved and to be ready to pay whatever price it takes for justice to prevail. And by the grace of God I have always lived to that responsibility.

Even as I am an ardent supporter of Buhari and hold him in very high esteem because of his integrity and zero tolerance to corruption, I will be among the first to criticise him and his government if he fails to deliver and will launch vigorous media campaigns for his removal through the ballot which kicked Jonathan out and brought him in.

The Punch of January 4, 2015, in one of its headlines titled: “BUHARI’S CERTIFICATES WITH US, SAYS ARMY”, the Army spokeman, Brig-Gen. Olajide Layeye, in an exclusive interview with Punch correspondent in Abuja said that Buhari’s certificate was with the Army.

And to my greatest surprise, another headline in Thisday surfaced that made me to pounder on Buhari’s certificate issue for a very long time as had serious dissatisfaction with the Nigerian Army.

The Nigerian Army issue in relation to Buhar’s certificate was published in THISDAYLIVE on 21 January, 2015 titled: “ARMY: WE DO NOT HAVE BUHARI’S CERTIFICATE”. Below is an excerpt of the story:

-----“In a bid to put to rest the controversy surrounding the credentials of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Army has stated that it is not in possession of his West African School Certificate (WASC) with which he enrolled in the Nigerian Military Training College in 1962.

At a press briefing yesterday in Abuja, the Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-Gen. Olajide Laleye, said the clarification was necessitated after the barrage of requests from individuals and corporate organisations seeking to know the true position of Buhari’s credentials.

But in a swift reaction, the APC warned that those bent on destroying its candidate may end up destroying the country’s military by dragging it into politics.

Providing further insight, Laleye said: “I don't have that information on whether General Buhari has applied for his credentials. The reason why we put this press conference together is because individuals and corporate bodies have written severally requesting for his credentials.

“We want to make it clear that we hold Buhari in high esteem having risen through the ranks.
“Now the raging controversy concerning this has been what the Nigerian Army presented to you as facts. We have not added anything and we have not subtracted anything.

“In his personal file in the Nigerian Army, we do not have his original copy of his WASC, nor does the Nigerian Army have the certified true copy of his WASC results, neither do we have a photocopy.

“We don't have any of them but we do have other documents to show how he was recruited into the Nigeria Army as was entered in Form 199A.”

The army spokesman explained that the available records indicated that Buhari applied to join the military as a form six student of the Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, on October 18, 1961.

“He was fully endorsed by the principal of the school, who also wrote a report on him and recommended him to be suitable for military commission.

“It is the practice in the Nigerian Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service, the Selection Board verifies the original copies of credentials presented.”

“However, there is no available record to show that this process was followed in the 1960s,” he said.
Nevertheless, Laleye said the entry made in the Nigerian Army Form 199A at the point of documentation after commission as an officer indicated that the former head of state obtained his secondary school certificate in 1961 with credits in the relevant subjects: English Language, Geography, History, Health Science, Hausa and a pass in English Literature.

“Neither the original copy, certified true copy nor statement of results of Major-General M. Buhari's WASC result is in his personal file. I hope this explanation will put to rest the raging controversy surrounding the secondary school credentials of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari as it affects the Nigerian Army,” he said.”--------

To my greatest surprise, two days after Buhari was declared the winner of the Presidential election by INEC, the Army magically and mysteriously found Buhari’s certificate, an issue that nearly prevented Buhari from contesting the Presidential election.

In a press release by APC United Kingdom through Sunday Akoji on April 2, 2015 titled: “MATTERS ARISING”, on its twitter says that: “Back in January, there was a clamour over the inability of Buhari to be produce his Secondary School leaving Certificate. The certificate issue became a saga after the Nigerian army which claimed it had the certificate later retracted its statement saying the certificate was not in its possession.”

“Someone working for the PDP obviously removed the certificate from his file at the Defence Headquarters. This is part of the strategies the PDP deployed in their campaign of calumny.”

Akoji said that it was even most disgraceful that the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign organisation was a Retired Colonel, in the person of Ahmadu Ali. He should have cautioned them about bringing the Military to disrepute. He did not.

“This singular act as far as I am concerned did more damage than good to the PDP”.

“Beyond bringing out Buhari’s certificate, there is an urgent need to restore pride and sanity to the military. As it stands now, the Nigerian Army, is an Army of anything goes! There have to be a clean sweep and overhaul of the military from top to bottom! The entire top echelon at the Defence Headquarters should turn in their resignation and leave with President Goodluck Jonathan on the 29th of May, so that the process of rebuilding and restoration shall begin in earnest,”he said.

With the Army suddenly releasing Buhari’s certificate after it became obvious that they would face the music made me to ask some basic questions:

1. Why did the Nigerian Army publish in THISDAYLIVE on 21 Jan. 2015 that they do not have Buhari’s certificate?

2. How come the Nigerian Army later released Buhari’s certificate?

3. Where did they find it? Or has the certificate become a magical and mysterious paper that can appear, disappear and reappear when it pleases it?

4. Why did the Nigerian Army later claim that they have Buhari’s certificate but he did not follow due process to apply for it?

5. Why has the Nigeria Military been inconsistent in its statements regarding Buhari’s certificate?

6. If Buhari was not elected as Nigeria’s president, would his certificate ever be found by the army?

7. When Buhari was sued by Sen. Alphonsus Igbeke; A legal practitioner, Mr. Chukwunweike Okafor, and their “subterranean group” of PDP members for beaching relevant provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act 2010, why did the Nigerian army refuse to come to his rescue by presenting his certificate to the court to vindicate him?

There are so many questions that space could not permit me to ask the Nigerian military with regard to Buhari’s certificate issue.

It is very unfortunate that the Nigerian army could allow itself to be politicised by the corrupt Jonathan and his government which made Nigeria army to lose its integrity and dignity locally and internationally.

The Nigerian military officers who allowed Jonathan and his extremely corrupt party, PDP to use them to frustrate Buhari’s Presidency pursuit through the ballot are already fighting a lost battle because there is nothing under the heavens that they will do or say that will save them since Buhari will definitely play Azonto music for them while he sits and watches with delight how they will dance to the music.

NTA and AIT among other media were busy promoting anti-Buhari campaigns and making it emphatic that Buhari has no secondary school certificate because of their selfish interests. NTA and AIT among other media that contributed in painting Buhari black have made a mockery of the journalism profession locally and internationally which I am a strong member. I am absolutely convinced that NTA and AIT among other journalists who played damaging parts in Buhari certificate issue understand that this is the kind of situation where investigative journalism takes the central stage. But they ignored it.

These media practitioners ignored the tenets of journalism which include principles of accuracy, objectivity, fairness and balance in reporting and promoting damaging TV documentaries on Buhari. I just pray that Buhari should find a place in his heart to forgive them.

ACT ONE SCENE ONE: BUHARI’S CERTIFICATE WITH US, SAYS ARMY

ACT ONE SCENE TWO: ARMY: WE DON’T HAVE BUHARI’S CERTIFICATE.

ACT ONE SCENE THREE: WE HAVE FOUND BUHARI’S CERTIFICATE.

Nigerians are just waiting to see what ACT ONE SCENE FOUR will be like when Buhari is sworn in on May 29, 2015

INEC postpones election in 8 constituencies in Bayelsa state

x
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has postponed tomorrow's elections in eight constituencies in Bayelsa state to next week Saturday, April 18th

According to the states Resident Electoral Commissioner, Baritor Kpagih, the postponement was due to insufficient supply of sensitive and non sensitive materials from INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Jonathan Storms Lagos with N10bn to Rig For PDP, Ambode of APC is Still Leading

The desperation is very obvious, President Goodluck Jonathan want to make sure PDP capture Lagos at all cost after loosing to General Muhammadu Buhari of APC. But the APC candidate, Akin Ambode is leading in the governorship race with APC controlling the most populous LGAs in Lagos.

However, the party is not leaving anything to chance, the APC has alleged a grand plan by the PDP to force its way through in the governorship election in Lagos State.

The PDP plan, according to the APC, includes gun running, use of fake result sheets, outright bribing of voters and deployment of the police to intimidate and harass its top members.
Controversial Assistant Inspector General of Police Joseph Mbu is said to be in charge of the illegal police operation.

Addressing reporters in Lagos, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC,Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said President Goodluck Jonathan flew into town on Thursday with “ a war chest of 10 billion naira specifically for the Lagos elections.”

Foot soldiers of the PDP are said to be under instruction to “storm polling units in areas where the APC is strong either to disrupt voting by attacking voters or simply carry away voting materials,” while a PDP point man “has been driving around designated pick-up points to drop fake NYSC and military uniforms, guns and cash.”

“In a clandestine and brazen operation in Lagos, this point man and his team have also added the distribution of fake result sheets to PDP agents,” Alhaji Mohammed said.

He said further: “At a popular Maryland vendor stand, which is one of the muster points for the PDP thugs, three big bags containing NYSC polo shirts, as well as fake Police and Army uniforms, were handed over to some PDP thugs by the agents.

“Then at 5:30 am this morning (yesterday), at exactly the same location, the vendor stand in Maryland close to Mobil Filing station, two white Hilux trucks pulled up and dropped 60 medium size rectangular cartons.

“On hand were the same men who collected the bags of fake NYSC t-shirts some days back. Their conversation, which took place in the Yoruba language, revealed a lot. The four men asked from the person, delivering the cartons ‘owo nko’ (where is the money). The man in the car said both the money and the guns were inside the box. He also explained to the four men that later in the evening of today (yesterday), the four men should return to the same point to collect fake result sheets from Bajulaiye (the hub of printing in Lagos) that will be wrapped up in newspapers and delivered just like the way newspapers are delivered.

“The men who collected the guns, fake uniforms and result sheets are those designated to storm polling units tomorrow. They will also instigate violence across the state, with a view to scaring away voters, especially in APC strongholds.

“The PDP has turned today’s elections into a do-or-die affair. The plan is to use thugs and militants who have also been imported into the state to intimidate voters, snatch ballot boxes and provide cover for the PDP to announce false results tomorrow. Fake ballot papers as well as result sheets are already being issued to the PDP.”

Alhaji Mohammed said that President Jonathan, soon after his arrival in Lagos on Thursday to “oversee the PDP’s rigging plans,” met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro, PDP governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, and the OPC factional leader, Gani Adams, in the presence of AIG Mbu.

He said the meeting perfected plans to rig the election after the PDP chieftains complained that the state Police Commissioner Kayode Aderanti refused to co-operate with them.

The CP was thus sidelined and Mbu given the go-ahead to take charge of the security aspect of the elections by allowing the PDP to announce fake election results .

“Acting on Jonathan’s directive, Mbu stormed the Lagos Police HQ today (yesterday) and took over the CP’s office, claiming he is now in charge of the election in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the IG of Police, Suleiman Abba, had posted the DIG in charge of training in Abuja, Mr Argungu, to oversee the election in Lagos. Mbu had been posted to take charge of affairs in Ogun State. The President by his directive has overridden the directives of the IG without his knowledge,” the APC spokesman said.

“The PDP is attempting to use Mbu and the GOC – who is Jonathan’s relation – to force a false result on the REC.

“It is interesting that despite their failure, in view of the dollar rain that fell on the South-west, to capture the region, they have not relented in wasting public funds to swing the outcome of elections,” he pointed out.

“Nigerians have shown that they cannot be swayed by bribery. If money were to be the determming factor, the PDP would not have lost the presidential elections. Just as they failed on March 28, they will fail again.”

APC has therefore urged all APC members and supporters, and indeed all the good people of Lagos, to be extra vigilant today to “ thwart the evil machinations of the fallen behemoth called the PDP.”

Please Save Us From Dangote, Cement Producers Beg Buhari

Change must affected all areas of Nigeria, no more impunity. Cement manufacturers under the aegis of Cement Producers Association of Nigeria, CPAN, have called on President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari to assist them in fighting corruption in the sector allegedly perpetrated by a cabal “that has been dictating cement policies for personal interests.”

In a tacit reference to popular businessman and President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, they specifically pleaded with Buhari to assist in reducing the price of cement from N2,200 to N1,000 per bag.

This appeal when considered, CPAN said, will be the first dividend of change for all Nigerians.

The Chairman of CPAN, Prince David Iweta, in a letter to Buhari dated March 3congratulating him on his victory in the recently-concluded general elections and obtained by journalists on Wednesday in Abuja, said cement should be allowed to be imported into Lagos, Warri and Calabar.

He said, “This cabal makes abnormal annual profit in the region of N200 billion from cement alone for the past six years while same company partnered with the Federal Government to suspend cement import permit granted by late President Musa Yar’Adua to six companies one each from each of the geo-political zones owing to late President Yar’Adua’s fairness, equity and justice style of governance to guarantee that cement sell at N1.000 per bag to Nigerians.

“We wish to use this medium to appeal to you and your government at inauguration to declare a change of price of cement from N2,200 per bag to N1,000 per bag. This will serve as the first dividend of change which the people of Nigeria voted for. The cement industry after the death of late President Musa Yar’Adua has witnessed the worst height of corruption and injustice for the past six years.

“It may interest the General to know that Nigeria is the country with the highest price of cement in the world. Why? It is worthy of mention that countries that have attained self sufficiency in cement production all over the world sell cement at N500 per bag. But in Nigeria where the Federal Government has claimed success in the cement industry, net exporter of cement is selling the commodity at N2,200 per bag.

“But not a bag is exported since 2012 as claimed. Why? It is a known fact that all West Africa countries, East, North and South Africa sell cement under N1,000 per bag; but in Nigeria, it is selling for N2,200. Why? new foreign direct INVESTORS are barred from venturing into the Nigeria cement industry since the past six years. So that cement price will remain high. Why?”

You Won’t Believe the Amount of Dirt, Bacteria and Feces that Accumulates in your Bed Each Night

You Won’t Believe the Amount of Dirt, Bacteria and Feces that Accumulates in your Bed Each Night
25FDF21700000578-0-image-a-102_1428533604033Experts have revealed gruesome details about the collection of dirt, bacteria, excrement, and other nastiness that builds up in your bed in just one night, suggesting that the majority of people aren’t doing enough to ensure that their sheets are clean and hygienic.
According to Dr Philip Tierno, Jr., the director of clinical microbiology and immunology at New York University’s Langone Medical Center, after just one night of use, your bed sheets can accumulate a horrifying array of dead skin, bacteria, fungus, mites, and even feces.
Research suggests that each and every time you use your bed, you are depositing more dead skin, in
addition to any dirt, sweat or grease that may have also built up on your skin throughout the day.
And then there are the cosmetic products that you use on your body, each of which deposits its own trace amount of product on the bed every time you get into it.
To make matters worse, each of those elements can carry additional bacteria and dirt; according to Dr Tierno, sweat is often found to contain trace amounts of excrement, and even E. coli.
The increasing level of dirt and grime is also likely to attract any number of bugs, such as dust mites, which in turn deposit their own dirt and excrement into your bed
A 2014 survey suggested that 35 per cent of all adults regularly go an entire fortnight without washing their sheets – while one in ten people admitted that they used the same sheets for an entire month before putting them in for a wash. Only one third of the participants claimed to wash their sheets on a weekly basis.
Despite society’s seemingly determined insistence to avoid the mundane chore of sheet washing however, Dr Tierno insists that a once-weekly wash is essential in order to avoid picking up any nasty infections.
How often do you wash your sheets, guys?
